Alzheimer's (Mild-to-Moderate)

50-87

Alzheimer’s Disease is a progressive brain disease that slowly destroys brain cells.  Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia and accounts for 60-80% of all dementia cases. Symptoms can vary widely between individuals but include memory loss, difficulty performing daily activities, and changes in judgement, reasoning, behaviour, and emotions.  Symptoms usually develop slowly and get worse over time.  Although it can be easy to assume memory loss is part of the aging process, Alzheimer’s disease is not a normal part of aging.

Alzheimer’s disease affects not only the individual who is diagnosed but family members, friends and caregivers. There is currently no cure for Alzheimer’s disease but there are several medications available that can help with symptoms. However these medications can affect people differently and not everyone will respond the same way to medications.

Clinical research is currently being conducted to help find potential treatment options for people experiencing cognitive impairment due to Alzheimer’s disease.  Bluewater Clinical Research Group is proud to help contribute to this research and we are actively looking for volunteers diagnosed with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer’s disease to participate in a new clinical trial.
